Holiday Donation Opportunities

Donate Food

The Open Hands Pantry has hams and other fixings for Christmas dinner but is in need of APPLESAUCE.

Feed a Family

Monetary donations can be made to cover the cost of providing Christmas dinner to one or more families in need.

  • A gift of $18 will provide one family with Christmas dinner (a Christmas ham plus fixings)
  • A gift of $12 will provide one Christmas ham

Santa's Workshop

Christmas donations can be made to Santa’s Workshop. Every year, our guests can shop for gifts for their children or grandchildren. 

Toys and books should be new and unwrapped for children up to age 12. No dollar store toys please. African American dolls are always in demand.

We also welcome donations of new coats up to size 14. 

All donations can be delivered to Open Hands during the hours of operation. They also can be delivered to the church office weekdays from 10am to 4 pm.

All donations are tax deductible as permitted by law. Open Hands Food Pantry has been designated as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Documentation verifying this status is available upon request.

Item of the Month (November): Toys for Santa's Workshop (new, up to age 12)

  • Tuna (Family Size)
  • Feminine Hygiene Items
  • Laundry Soap
  • Soup
  • Dried Beans, Peas, Lentils
  • Peanut Butter
  • Juice
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo
  • Dish Soap

We always need gently used plastic grocery bags or reusable cloth grocery bags. (No paper please)

Toiletries and Household Supplies

  • Deodorant
  • Disposable razors
  • Liquid dish soap
  • Conditioner (hair)

Emergency Items for the Homeless

  • Ready to eat items (no cooking required)
  • New or gently used blankets and sleeping bags
  • New or gently used coats
  • Socks, mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves
  • Backpacks
  • Handwarmers

Large Donations Require Drop Off Appointments

For large quantity donations drop offs, we require a drop off appointment due to our limited volunteer staff.  Contact us for an appointment before you plan your drop off. Appointments may be obtained by contacting us via email or phone.

Small donations will be accepted during the food pantry's open hours. 

Host a Food Drive
